Hi all,

Im trying to get a Sifam 22AF set up as PPM/VU meters... I don't seem to able to find any app notes about resistors/capacitors etc required to get them working, but was under the impression that meters like Sifams don't need external buffering?

Distortion being injected into the system is a non-issue because they will be hanging off the back of an RTW phase meter, which is transformer balanced...

Thanks, in advance!

Mo

AFAIK the 22AF is a DC meter. So no diode bridge inside. I once made something like this....

....to convert a DC meter to a VU.
It works but don't expect very accurate VU behaviour. This has to do with the meter balistics / size of the motor.

Here a goodreading on both ppm and VU meters  http://sound.westhost.com/project55.htm
