I guess I'm a fan of Sony microphones. I like their sdc's a lot (C-35p and C-36p) and I have now also a C-500 ldc. For what I understand, the C-500 was born around '68 and had a different capsule than the C37/C38 mics.
Searching for parts I found that the current capsule for a Sony C48 is called C500:
C48:
C500 A4510027A CAPSULE $869.69
C48 142906100 TRANSFORMER, MIC $262.30
The C48 capsule is supposedly similar to the one in the C800G.
Has anyone info on this strange microphone? I've seen it on youtube videos of Stevie Wonder (vocal), U2 (guitar cab) but nothing more. Mine has "ramport" (the who studios) engraved.
I saw the C37 tube and fet schematics here. Anyone has technical info on the C500?
regards,
Bram
