Would it be possible to install a switch on the front in series with a 2K resistor, and put theese two in parallell with the 2K resistor feeding the GR meter? this way I could easily switch the sensitivity on the meter between -20-0 and -10-0. is there any chance of hurting anything if switching when the unit is being used?

And no, it wouldn't hurt anything to have this switch.

On the other hand, you won't miss is if it isn't there. These things are set by ear anyway...

they sure are... I think for my next SSL I'm just gonna build a 4-LED meter for GR. I love the meter, but I really only use it to see if I'm getting signal when it's not hooked up to anything audible.

The first one of these I built I put a meter senstivity switch in. The couple I built after I didn`t bother, I just put it on the least sensitive setting. The meter is not very accurate & you have to learn what it does tell you anyway. So IMHO its just wasting a switch !
you have to connect ther 2k resistors in series to get -10db on full scale...
How come? the instructions say that if I want the meter to show -10 dB full scale I should use a 1K resistor. Well It´s not important, I will probably be using this as a mastering tool so I think I´ll go for the -10dB full scale all the time and save the switch for something better.
