I was looking for some circuit to experiment with then I thought, what about the Japanese diy community? then I saw this. I think this is some kind of a stripped down version of the schoeps circuit?
that looks too simple to be true.
Any thoughts?

I have found information on field-effect transistors, which may be helpful for understanding this circuit. Practice is the only criterion for testing truth, and those who have free time can give it a try. The distortion should be very small, but the specific gain is unknown

Nothing whatever like the Schoeps circuit.

Would'nt work very well over significant lenghts of cable; not even any iso Rs on the outputs.

well Ive asked other members about this circuit, as you said it works but might not be effective, and yes, it is not a stripped down version of a schoeps circuit. also there are second and third versions of this circuit.
