I'm starting to experiment with incorporating local 'off cuts' of fine woods in my things.
My favourite, 'tasmanian blackwood' really does it for me ... in furniture and also where it really shines .. a musical instrument 'tone wood' with all the fineness of great rosewoods. It's easy to find down here 8)
I did some drawers in 'tasmanian blackwood' and cedar ... super fine luthiers' off cuts. You could make little guitars out of them!
30 years later and the french polished grains are still awesome.
I've a few more racks to do before winter strikes way down here ...
