Midrange is important for a few reasons. Human hearing is most sensitive in the midrange (so we can understand speech), and many loudspeakers have crossovers in the middle of this sensitive region, making perturbations there more audible on familiar sources like human voices.

Using a recognizable announcer's voice could work well...

Almost there with my wiring, two more edac plugs to do, & i can start running some audio through the desk. And recording it.
