This might sound strange being posted by me. I think I might like tant caps in some solid state microphones. I built two microphones very close to the same circuit and capsule the tant version seems to sound cleaner than the one built with a pan FC. The cap is the source bypass cap I use a polypro from the drain to the transformer.

Maybe this is because the tant has about a 1volt forming voltage? I did use a 6.3v FC.

I stopped using tants in the signall path in the past however they often did not have a forming voltage.

Has any body else gone back and tried tants with a forming voltage on them?
