Tascam 38 with ATR Master Tape?

Hey I was wondering if anyone is running a Tascam 38 with the ATR Master Tape - High Bias.

I wanted to know if the 38 has enough juice in the bias circuit to use this tape or if I should consider the ATR MDS-36 instead?

Looking at the spec sheets the formulations seem to be the same, it's just a difference in the thickness of the base film. You might get less print thru with the thicker tape but I don't see that as an issue because record levels can't be elevated that much on that machine. The thicker tape might lead to increased head wear but if you are already using a tape similar to the ATR MDS-36 either should work
