Good morning, gentlemen. I can't understand how the attack/release circuit published in THAT's technical notes works, which I am attaching here. ( Design note 115 , a fully adjustable compressor/limiter )
Or rather, I understand that the constant current circuits act as current regulators that pass through the diode bridge, charging or discharging capacitor C18, but I fail to grasp how exactly this happens.
I am puzzled by the values of the resistors that bias the transistors: the attack circuit has a resistance ratio ten times lower than the release circuit, and I don't understand the operating principle or the function of Q9 and Q7.
Could someone with more experience kindly explain how to interpret the circuit?
