Who ends up doing the heavy lifting for NATO and the UN when things go sideways? Yes, we still need to keep control of the MIC and warhawks here at home.

OK. I'll bite...

Why?

Things mainly go sideways when the US starts meddling in other countries' affairs while not understanding cultural differences. Every war the US has fought since WWII is a clear example: Korea, Vietnam, Iraq...

And subs, missiles, satellites, cyber capability...much based on stolen western tech. Will Europe defend against Chinese aggression in the east?

The cyber capability the Russians seem to have is mainly due to better education. Math.

When it comes to missiles, the Russian numbers are still dwarfed by US numbers.

And let's not forget US atomic weapons are all around the world.

There simply is no other nation that's that big of a threat to world peace. Not to mention the thousands of people who have been "relocated" from their country to start all these military bases. Between three and four thousand of theses, if you count the smaller ones. And while they tend to rent the terrain when dealing with "friendly" nations, they take them with force in all other cases. Then they use these to torture people.

Of course, there's also the vast nuclear pollution in several places around the globe, including the USA. And, yes, Russians have a similar problem, only they did it almost exclusively on their own territory.

Not really a nice picture, is it?

So? It may well be the case that carriers are obsoleted in the next big naval conflict just like battleships were in WWII.

Possible. Yet the Chinese are building some. And US military wants still more of them. Why?

So? Not sure what the point of all this is other than having another bash at the USA. Focus on making your own country what you think it should be.

That's what I'm doin'. What are you doing to make the USA a better place?

Judging by the many complaints you have, it isn't very good over there, these days. And judging by the numbers of people in jail, gun possession, pollution, average lifespan... it isn't either.

Of course, it's all the fault of the other side...

You never answered my question. Why does the US end up doing the heavy lifting for NATO and UN?

Things mainly go sideways when the US starts meddling in other countries' affairs while not understanding cultural differences. Every war the US has fought since WWII is a clear example: Korea, Vietnam, Iraq...
That's funny. I've been to South Korea several times, worked with many South Koreans and Korean-Americans. Not a single person has had anything negative to say about the outcome of the Korean war. Perhaps you've forgotten the history, but it was North Korea that invaded South Korea sparking the war. The UN intervened with the vast majority (over 90%) of armed forces being Americans. Among UN casualties, Americans also bore the highest losses. But keep carping about it.

Vietnam was a more complex situation and it was the unelected bureaucrats and warhawks who got us entangled. JFK was opposed to it, but LBJ dove in head first.

The first gulf war was UN sanctioned. The second was a mistake that I opposed. I don't support a lot of the CIA interventions we've done, including meddling in Ukraine, Libya, Syria, etc.

The cyber capability the Russians seem to have is mainly due to better education. Math.
I was clearly talking about China, not Russia.

When it comes to missiles, the Russian numbers are still dwarfed by US numbers.
Not known, but again, I was talking about China.

And let's not forget US atomic weapons are all around the world.
Yep. How many have been used?

There simply is no other nation that's that big of a threat to world peace.
Really? That's ridiculous.

Not to mention the thousands of people who have been "relocated" from their country to start all these military bases.
Well, I think you'd change your tune if we were to withdraw and let Europe deal with it's problems alone. Let's not forget where the only world wars started.

Between three and four thousand of theses, if you count the smaller ones.
Yep.

And while they tend to rent the terrain when dealing with "friendly" nations, they take them with force in all other cases.
After conflicts, yes.

Then they use these to torture people.
I don't support that. Unfortunately, torture is widely used by other nations as well.

Of course, there's also the vast nuclear pollution in several places around the globe, including the USA.
Testing by other westeen countries doesn't count, I guess.

And, yes, Russians have a similar problem, only they did it almost exclusively on their own territory.

Not really a nice picture, is it?
The world isn't always a nice place. Your views are skewed. Not sure where in Europe you live, but it's clear you have a limited historical understanding of quite a lot. How would Europe look today had the US not first provided materiel to Britain and then joined the Allied side?

Possible. Yet the Chinese are building some. And US military wants still more of them. Why?
The Chinese are copiers. Who knows what they're planning. US military leaders are often guilty of fighting "the last war." Projecting air power world-wide has its advantages, but with 100% satellite observation, carriers are no longer able to take advantage of the element of surprise which was possible into the 60s.

That's what I'm doin'.
Carping? Whining about other countries?

What are you doing to make the USA a better place?
Whatever I can.

Judging by the many complaints you have, it isn't very good over there, these days. And judging by the numbers of people in jail, gun possession, pollution, average lifespan... it isn't either.
My complaints are about politicians making more and bigger problems for the citizens they're supposed to represent. I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else in the world (I have been to Europe, Asia, Israel). Sure, we have problems. Every country has its problems. The freedom we enjoy still offsets the negatives.
Of course, it's all the fault of the other side...
Plenty of blame to go around. But in the past decade or two, more damage has been done by the side that thinks more government is better; that government intervention is the solution to virtually all problems.

lotteries are a tax on poor (ignorant) people. Better chance of being hit by lightning.

JR
lol.

But i see a lot of people or quite a few at the gas station or tabaco shop buying "scratch" tickets.

it's look looking addicts in the face, like drugs.

3 years ago, i had a scratch ticket in the Christmas box from my "employer and i "won" 10€, i never play.

There are always commercial from the "state controlled" zipcode or postcode lottery and others on tv, pretty much every commercial block.
using people that used to have their own shows and programs on tv but are derailed or shunted out (translator gave me this).
They are pretty high tech commercials, cinematic, in any case expensive looking commercials, some of them.

Also using apps.
on the left and right i'm hearing bad things about this organization, funding stuff secretly in coop with the WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM.

Now i see, that the UK also has this and the logo looks the same, same graphics, same format and seemingly the same "annoying" factor.

They never leave you alone, Facebook executives probably don't earn enough money to afford a psychological or mental health check up.
Mark ZuckerB*rg isn't paying them enough apparently.

That's probably because you have been near to people with a smartphone who use these apps.

For some reason I can't quote the message from AnalogPackrat I'm replying to.

The US seems to do the heavy lifting for NATO because that's their choice. The UN is another matter, as they don't control it. But I can only presume they do so because they feel obligated to police the world. And they don't even stop at the world, as there's a military space unit these days.

That seems absurd to any logical thinking human being. But I guess big corporations have plans to mine the moon, asteroids and any other place out there and the US govt obliges them willingly.

And it seems to me that's what you're complaining about. Your govt sold out a long time ago to capitalism. And capitalism needs the military to rob and plunder anything they want to get their greedy hands on.

we used to have on our own social Media before Facebook was a "thing" and it got turned off in favor of Facebook.

The made official verbs out of Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.

Amazon (Ring doorbells) sells facial recognition to police for a dime and you face gets.
https://aws.amazon.com/what-is/facial-recognition/
Facialrecognition works in three steps: detection, analysis, and recognition. Detection Detection is the process of finding a face in an image. Enabled by computer vision, facialrecognition can detect and identify individual faces from an image containing one or many people's faces. It can detect facial data in both front and side face profiles.

Facial analysis capabilities, such as those available in Amazon Rekognition, allow users to understand where faces exist in an image or video, as well as what attributes those faces have. For example, Amazon Rekognition can analyze attributes such as eyes open or closed, mood, hair color, as well as the visual geometry of a face.
claims to being able to indentify you by just "seeing" a piece of your eye!

We have a lot of these camera hanging around here within 50 meters, there is no escaping from Amazon.
I have discovered none of these in Germany, Zero.

Amazon delivers a database service for many countries around the world.

Clearview AI | Facial Recognition

Clearview AI's unbiased facial recognition platform is protecting our families and making our communities more secure. We help law enforcement disrupt and solve crime, and we enable financial institutions, transportation, and other commercial enterprises to verify identities, prevent financial fraud, and identity theft.
their website claims to scan for Faces in the Ukraine, i saw yesterday.

it's being sold too you as handy and useful and people fall for it.

But many are locked inside this global "intranet" called Facebook, Instagram and they don't have a clue, don't read and argue with you, turn the sausage around and blame you, but it's written out there.

it's safe to assume USA wants world dominance and roughly 7 billion people on the planet are usefull idiots and can't code!
Make their own operation system.

But Russia and China have Facebook blocked and apparently according to the mondial politics they are out of order.

You had me confused for a minute there...

There's also maid, a cryptocoin from the Scottish MaidSafe

https://maidsafe.net/
It's also a safe network for distributed hosting & communications. A bit like tor, before it was... ahum... acquired by the US military. Before that, tor was called Freedom and it was Canadian. And more.

And Freedom is what maidsafe is also selling. Hosting and communication that can't be deleted or tampered with because it doesn't reside on one server, but lives on the blockchain. Freedom from any government's censorship or interference. Everyone can participate in that network and earn (or spend) MaidSafe coin. A much more economically viable proposition than BitCoin, if you ask me.

Anyhow, a fresh example came by how freedom of speech is still trampled upon by your justice system, based on legislation that started the rise of fascism in the USA:

Someone told a joke on the net. It was a joke about bombs. I don't know the joke, cause it was censored fast. The local sheriff decided is was serious enough to send a SWAT team to the poor guy's (and his pregnant wife's) house.

https://ij.org/client/waylon-bailey/
What is remarkable, is that the judge blocked his complaint afterwards, based upon legislation that goes back to the WWI era. The very same legislation that was used to kill suffragettes and socialists.

I expected that to be part of history, but apparently it's still used today whenever your govt wants to deny you your rights.

why not call it MAD?

I dunno if it's mad.

I happen to work at an elderly's home currently. I do talk to the residents and it strikes me how often I hear a wish to die. Just today from a man who's mostly paralised. He's nearly ninety and finds no joy despite being well taken care of. He's not in pain, but he's bored to the limits.

Why would we deny people's right to end their own life?

Why do we feel a need to keep people alive against their own will?

We had a few cases of murder by injection of insuline in our elderly's homes over here. I can see how some of the nurses or caretakers would do this because they can't take the suffering. Watching people suffer every day eats away your soul.

It takes a very strong person to do that every day, as a job. I think it's probably the reason why it's so hard to keep nurses and caretakers. I've only analysed a few people's case after they resigned, but most didn't go to a comparable job. Some became dog trainers, others went to work in a bar, or a sandwich bar. Far away from sorrow.

You might think people were able to do such a job, for instance in war time. Or after disasters. But they could hope for an end to that war. In elderly's homes, you can only hope for death...

There's no end to it and there are even more elderly in the future.

How it works

(published just 13 hours ago)

i saw Jacinda Arden, Justin, Biden.

Klaus Schwab seems to be a official entity.
He wrote a book about COVID (and great reset):
Did he invent it?

A judge accepted the case and the minister president, vice minister president and some other ministers are being sued as natural persons for including the World Economic Forum and their weird ideas, Covid, some other stuff in to the nation as wel hiding it for the public that they they are involved with the World Economic Forum. it's a class action by a entity to helps the "you" if you have problems with the goverment.
the date is over 3 weeks.

Some politician asked questions about the cabinet & World Economic Forum and short time later they turned the sausage around, didn't answer the questions and accused him for being in bed with mr Putin.

By law it's forbidden to serve foreign entities.
the penalty is more than 10 years jail time or a huge fine.

By law it's forbidden to involve the country in a war that's not yours.
(but out prime ministers said on TV it's our war)

I'm confident that his collapse was due to government propagated electromagnetic radiation, causing an infarction of his pineal gland leading to loss of melatonin production, putting him into a dangerous hyper-vigilant state and loss of necessary relaxation mechanisms.

This could easily have been prevented by wearing a protective aluminum foil head covering.

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/...estigate-their-own-vaccines-myocarditis-risks
Both Pfizer and Moderna have announced that they will be undertaking studies to determine the longer term risks of Myocarditis (an inflammatory condition of the heart which can lead to death) for people who have been injected with the mRNA based covid vaccines. The decision comes after the release of multiple medical studies which show a correlation and causation between the vaccines and an exponential increase in heart problems, specifically among men 40 years old and younger. Only a year ago the link between covid vaccinations and myocarditis was widely denied.

And the link between the mRNA death jab is still be denied by the "mis-informationists" conspiracy-denying pseudo-intellectuals in the Brewery.

Crazydoc: I protect my pineal gland with nascent iodine. Maybe some of you have been exposed to too much fluoride. Yeah, that explains it.

"mis-informationists"

The current cabinet used and is using people that are on Facebook, Instagram & YouTube.
(combating their imagined misinformation)

you can discover them if the account was made in 2022 and other details
They are "newbies" but have a pretty big mouth, they stand out in the comments.

the current cabinet "installed" a 3rd secret service (the people mentioned up) and they don't fall under laws of secret service or any and are pretty free to do whatever they want.
So intensely severe was this imaginary decease!

these people search for people that are against the narration of the government on social media and you're being labeled or booked as terrorist.

Why would we deny people's right to end their own life?
Another my body , my choice? ... EOL scenarios aside, seems that one rub is that there is money being used for things that could instead be used for it's citizens to help keep them from wanting to end things.

My sister in law has a son with some rare mitochondrial disease that has left him dependent for pretty much everything . About 10 years ago he had a couple of seizures that left him pretty bad in the hospital. Within a couple of days she was given the option to have hospice come in. Telling her, even if he recovered , he'd be on a machine to keep him alive, etc. She refused. That was 10 years ago and he's doing as good as he ever was,no machines, etc... He's 23. Who knows, maybe if he could form complete sentences, he'd tell his mom she made a mistake.
