How about a dedicated 'Covid protest' thread (anti-vaccine, anti-mask, anti-pass, anti-testing etc) ? At least all the info would be in one place then.

Also too bad the COVID politics thread is locked. Might have wanted to post about the recent Swiss direct democratic vote on their government's COVID politics. Interesting result as the overwhelmingly strong voter turnout and support of the Swiss government's approach did not necessarily mean that all proponents fully approve of it.

Meanwhile how about watching "Don't look up". Careful though, it looks like a left-leaning flick, but some of the less-politically motivated parody gave me some very good laughs.

A neighbor couple recently traveled with their young son to Dubai. Their son wore a mask throughout a 9 hour flight with zero problem.
All these complaints about kids wearing masks likely have more to do with the parents' objections than the kids'. And likely many of the kids who object are simply mimicking the bad attitudes of their parents.

Herding cats on the internets is difficult, [edit irritates the cats /edit] and is a poor use of my time, I take notice when a thread looks like it is spiraling out of control. Locking a thread just stops that one trigger while some inflamed posters will just keep going, corrupting other unrelated threads. I attempted to scrape out off topic posts and corral them in a dedicated "veer" thread before, but that was not appreciated or embraced.

I expect most people make posts looking for confirmation of their personal world view. It is relatively easy to find links advancing two sides or more of every issue, so these links are not very compelling to informed observers, if anything they reveal a lack of original thinking.

It does not inspire open minded consideration to disrespect forum members with insulting comments.

This thread IMO is still about a timely topic with evolving news, despite some repetitive posters fixated on existing bad arguments.

A rare occurrence like this (one every 21 seconds in the US) is definitely due to the vaccine. I applaud your ability to put things into perspective and warn us of the terrible vaccine dangers.
