Overwhelmed PCR testing labs, I wonder ? What's the point of testing a patient if test result takes several days to come in (cos of Omi) and patient is vaccinated against delta and has no symptoms and no reported COVID contacts, but needs treatment now ? Could do a quick test... sure.
it gets worse... some are requiring retesting to get released from quarantine, but PCR tests can remain positive for several weeks after infection. Quick tests reportedly could work but are unavailable. If testing takes multiple days to get a result that just keeps workers unavailable.

This testing kerfuffle seems like another self inflicted wound by government..

I'd love to fast forward a few months.

Whats the point testing
Risk factor ?

Can only speak for Japan. Here labs (still) have capacity -- also but not exclusively thanks to uninterrupted widespread mask wearing.

For irony or karma, Gerlado Rivera who is fully vaccinated and boosted, and very angrily berated unvaccinated people on TV as potential murderers, who put his children at risk. Over the recent holiday Geraldo himself contracted omicron and has had a major attitude adjustment considering his previous position.

It seems the left is still singling out unvaccinated people as the new deplorables. They seem to always be trying to blame somebody else.

(Matador's TODO: find 10 ironic posts on GroupDIY of JR blaming democratic mayors, Obama 'apology tours', Biden's 'open southern border', Clinton campaign staff and their 'dirty tricks', the left-wing media's bias, progressive prosecutors, and Hunter Biden's laptop). :ROFLMAO:

This is the wrong thread for pure politics but i'll save you a search... my complaint today is about NYC's new prosecutor downgrading a bunch of felonies to misdemeanor. We have already seen how this turns out in CA.

memo from new NYC DA

The new NYC mayor will have an uphill battle. Decriminalizing resisting arrest will likely escalate police encounters.

PS: Sorry about the veer but I was personally called out.

Nothing to see here.. Let me guess, this happens all the time? just a coincidence.. just like sports players dropping on the field..

Matador, I see your irritating personality hasn't changed. Vaccine related? :)

Oh.. Bay Area! I get it now..

Cue the pretentious Voltaire quotes.

It's true, I did just get boosted a few weeks ago. I don't have as much time to be irritating these days: Dr. Fauci and I are working full time getting all these old boxcars back in service.

Since you asked:

The more often a stupidity is repeated, the more it gets the appearance of wisdom.

I made it through the first half hour and it confirms my suspicion that big tech is too powerful at controlling information. Not sure how to fix that.

"Somebody" is starting to wake up.

Not sure how to fix that.

Easy. It starts with you.
Stop watching TV, stop using Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter et al.
You'll make better decisions once you have better information.

no that would be the public waking up, but they haven't yet. The public is pretty easily influenced.

and stop blindly accepting extreme viewpoints on the internets. Critical thinking has never been more important (try it).

And the cause of death is not Covid. Gee, what could it be?
Maybe vaccine-related?
First I see no confirmation that all cause deaths are up that much, but they are up something like 15%. Our life expectancy is getting shorter right now.
article about death "rate" statistics
===
I can imagine multiple factors more likely than to be killed by vaccines.
- fentanyl poisonings from all the fentanyl freely coming across our open southern border and being mixed into street drugs.
- preventative medicine (operations and procedures) denied or postponed because of covid restrictions
- suicides due to mental health declines, not caused by covid directly but the government response to covid
- record homicide rates in multiple cities (Jackson, MS about 50 miles from me just reported a record homicide year).
-some fraction actually died from earlier strains of covid more deadly than omicron, but not likely as many died "from" covid as were reported.
-obesity, while not directly a killer by itself, a comorbidity when combined with covid (and people gained even more weight during covid).
-etc

There are actual enemies trying to kill us. I don't think China was smart enough to craft a super bio-weapon, but they sure managed air travel leaving Wuhan to do more damage outside china than inside their own country. They surely had some idea about what was going on and worked it for their own national interest.

I think we may be seeing the final wave of this pandemic. The conspiracy theorists will have to yell louder as the public loses interest and returns to relatively normal life. I worry that the school children will be most negatively affected long term but one upside is that parents accidentally got a glimpse into what the teachers were programming the kids with.

Buckle up the next few weeks could be interesting.
