UK Partial Eclipse

We had a partial eclipse of the sun this morning in the Uk. Fortunately? it was cloudy so I managed to take these photos with a regular camera.

Apparently the moon was at perigee for this eclipse, so viewed from earth it was slightly larger than the sun. On TV there was a plane flying so it could see a total eclipse, but they did not expect to see the diamond ring but in fact they did. Some of the images in UV from satellites showed just what a raging inferno the sun is.

Well, it was so cloudy in Amsterdam that any effect we might have seen was completely obscured.  I've seen some great photos online though. Yours are nice too Ian.
