I've bought by occasion pair of these .
They have really cool sound .
The frequency and the Q are Dented like steps
only the gain pots have center dent
Pots looks like Alps
I'm thinking of recapping and upgrade the Gain pots to Dented too .
but i can't find this type of pots .
i'm found like this pots on DBX units too at least on 160a and 166xs
maybe someone know where i can find this type of pots or what models
Thanks

If you look for 'deTEnted' pots, you might have (more) luck with finding some, perhaps.

EQ model - PentaQ  - Axys series  by  Duran Audio - Now Axys series owned by Harman (JBL) but they make only speakers
this EQ made in mid 90's - no information at all on the internet .
i'm written to Duran Audio -owner sent me the manual - not much talking there
the Q and the Frequency are black double stacked pots seen on the picture - the gain is only half high.
i'm only can find - ALps pot with center DENT ...maybe someone can post link for what i'm looking for?!

Yours are radiohm pots....Should be easy enough to find......???

I see those are 100kohm..... are those the master volume???.

If you are doing the volume pots  in stepped....I think you need to look for an audio taper......in the value you need....

If you are dead set on fixed steps........It's not always a good thing.....

You don't say if it actually works.......? and if not why  ?
Oh yes you do "they have a really cool sound"
So
Clean it up ,make sure it works properly, then , recap , if the detents work fine leave  alone.
I can never understand why you would need to "upgrade" anything apart from old electrolytics ?
Replacing all those attenuators woul be a real challenge, and for what !

who ho - 42usd for one  ))) 500+ for 12 )))
the one
100kb- it's Q control
100kc-frequency control
the one which Radiohm on- it's the one with center dent(gain) - which i want to upgrade
each channel have one
...there are very small steps really easy to mach two channels - that's why
i'll try to remove one board to see what value of pot

for now i use 1khz wave to check if channels matched or no - it's really long check handle by handle

I thought you just wanted to change the 2 master volume pots to have the same stepped action as the others..... Replacing two to try out is a big difference from all of the pots............ Are you trying to "upgrade" all of them????? or were you just hypothesizing???

So that dbx pot is stepped??? it has 41 positions????

Interesting....

on this EQ every frequency have gain  + master gain  =12 pot's
yeah I have DBX 160a compressor- it uses the same type of pot's as i'm looking for .... but looks like they only use  20 Kohm

Very cool...

I'm usually hesitant in getting fixed points unless it has super matched, quality resistors for the points. If there's ever any drift in the value at any given point, I may find the want to get in between.... that DBX pot looks like it lets you stay in between the detented areas?????

let's say  you want to choose frequency  from 25 to 40 Hz - so you have 6 steps from 25 to 40  to choose
