I accidentally left a box of NOS vacuum tubes on the porch outside when I was moving stuff yesterday. It dipped below freezing last night, so now they'll sound better because they've been cryo-treated.

But what does bother me is possible damage of the glass to metal seals when the tubes are cyro-treated.
If liquid nitrogen is used the temp is -196C

What happens at that temp with CTEs of the materials? Tube were designed to go more from maybe -40 C, F(guess) to operating temp
