G’day,

I’m currently desperately searching for the following transistors to purchase. I am after a minimum of two of each. Matched would be ideal. If they’re not matched I’d prefer to buy a bunch of each. The transistors are as follows:

- P27A
- P307B OR P307G (or both, if they’re on offer).
- MP37A
- MP41A
- MP40A

Conversely, I have found a business with a large stockpile of NOS Soviet transistors (only one I could find with P307s), but their minimum order value is $1500. Curious whether anybody would be interested going in (together) for a bulk order?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

What are you planning to use them for, what is the optimal hfe you need?

I’m using them for a pair of old passive inductor LOMO EQs I’m working on. A transistor in the right channel has gone kaput. I mainly use them in stereo, so want to make sure that any GE transistor I need to replace on one channel is matched on the other channel. The documentation I have on the EQ doesn’t specify an optimal hfe so I’m probably looking for transistors that are as close to their stock specifications as possible.

I know that I won’t be needing to replace all the transistors at this stage, but I am still thinking that I would like to have a matched pair of replacements of each of them on hand, for future service/repair.

Try this, seems that they have most of what you need:

I bought some transistors, diodes and other stuff from them with good results.

Be aware that vintage germanium transistors were not as tight in specs like silicon ones, in the same model they can vary widely in Hfe and leackage so you may need to but a few of them and test them to find the good ones for your purpose.

Good luck!

Exactly for this reason I asked what would be the optimal hfe in that scheme.
