Hi Guys .
Anyone having this problem here??
Its getting annoying...reading a 100 pages thread will get me a Threat message for every page!

The message relates the thread to avatars most of the time!

I see it on very rare but repeatable occasions

In my case, (Zone Alarm) it's the anti-virus triggering an alarm when a link is encountered that points to a URL which is either not on it's 'whitelist' or conversely, is on it's 'blacklist'.

It doesn't necessarily mean that a virus is encountered - there are many URLs which are not on a vendor's whitelist.

But it can mean that a site is legitimately marked as hazardous and 'blacklisted'
The blacklists are maintained by commercial or underground organisations but sometimes do  'falsies'.
There is a process for reporting and removal from blacklists.
Most web guys would have had do this on time or other in their lives.

But, if you are seeing it very frequently, it indicates your anti-virus is triggering very aggressively on any URL it doesn't know about. ie. think about relaxing the vigilance or looking for alternative.

What anti virus do you got?

WHICH thread?

As you seem to say, the forum is clean, but members can insert stuff from other places. "Constant" red-flag raising is more likely Avatars, because a person may post on many pages of a thread.

The avatar image itself may be innocent. Your nanny is probably (as Alexc says) complaining about the larger site that the image is served from.

Example: say I find a suitable image, and it happens to be served from a porn site. If the nanny is set to object to porn, it will raise the flag, even if the image itself is sweet and decent.

If you *possibly* can, isolate which avatar is triggering your nanny-gate.

Either way, report to Ethan, the forum supervisor. He can at least blank a member's avatar, then contact them to select another image (and host).

As alexc and PRR have mentioned, it's most likely an image/url/avatar that's being displayed from another server that is causing your anti-virus to trigger.  It shouldn't pose a threat to you (unless you navigate away from the forum and toward the potentially blacklisted URL).
If you run into any posts like that, please report it using the "report to moderator" link at the bottom right of each post. When you report posts please detail why you're reporting it.  Sometimes posts get reported without a message and it isn't always clear why it was reported.

what kind of firewall?

had to ditch Comodo firewall, it was way too paranoid,

so i surf nekid and have Magor Geeks look at my log files when stuff happens,

add blockers sure do come in handy these days, getting saturated fo sho,
