Hiya im thinking of upgrading my vocal mic, I have a AKG Solidtube so firstly does any have any ideas of improving these was thinking of maybe copying the C12 circuit don?t know if this would work or maybe the royer, & why is it most royer jobs are done on the 2001/3 mics is it coz have good capsule or because others have done em & it all fits in the case neatly, has anyone done a c12 type circuit? I hear the 6072 tube isn?t good choice for tube mic? think C12 owners may disagree, im also thinking theres lots of cheap mics about now, the Tbones for instance, crap name tho, how would they sound modified maybe not as good as the Solid, Audio Technicas meant to be nice for not much dosh,what about them, ive also got a AKG C28A & Blue do a screw on top for it, quite a bit of doe tho, is it worth it?,its hard to know what to do for the best & even harder to explain what something sounds like, & not much chance of hearing the all the mics so, I spose that?s why people stick to the classics,but if anyone has any ideas or thoughts about my ramblings be great to hear em
