Any passive element under current and/or voltage is the source of noises. The question is, what is better noise source, what is worse.

If I'm given the choice of a coil of wire wrapped around some iron or electrons passing through holes of silicon, I think I know the answer already. =)

Edit;.. assuming that you are not using the ccs as an electronic ripple filter and are feeding well filtered/reg'd B+ to both.

It depends of what is below your level of acceptance: some noises or some distortions. I suppose, you would not hear noises added by CCS load, but distortions added by transformers may be well audible.
