Hi all,

I heard of this site through a friend, as i'm interested in learning how to build.
I'm o.k. with a soldering iron and making up simple things like leads etc.., but have no electronics knowledge and would love to learn... i feel i've came to the right place to make a start :thumb: ..

Thanks

Al

[quote author="Plexibreath"]Al, you might want to start off with a Fairchild 670 just to get your feet wet. :twisted: Just kidding. I know, a channel strip that a Telefunken V76 > Pultev EQ > Fairchild 660. Yeah :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks!...

I was hoping to build a 1176 clone, but i'm probably way out my depth, thanks for the tip :grin:

Don't sweat it, we are here to help you :thumb:

If you're keen on more opto squashing, that Forssell thing could be a nice starter for sure.

Fred Forssell designed some of the Millenia boxes;

His own website;

Nice guy! The opto comp isn't ready yet, but I don't think it will take long :wink:

Another really cool one is PRRs MU comp, for buss squashing/mastering. That would be fairly easy and cheap to make also;

Who was that had a website on this? Kent? Can't find it :oops:

[quote author="sismofyt"]You must check the mother of Group DIY too;

I will!, i think once i get my head round trying to read those schematic sheets, things will become a bit more clear :?

I think this one from the beginners guide at ESP really hits the nail on the head;

I just love Rod for his clear no nonsense website. He'd be way cool to get over here :wink:
