Used AT4047 for $280, or New Studio Projects C1 for $250????

    Which would you all recommend me to buy?

        The guy on Craig's is willing to go down to $280
on their used AT4047/SV.  He claims it's in "as new" condition.

    It's either that one, or a brand new Studio Projects C1
for $250:

    I have a feeling I know what most of you would recommend

Depends what you need it for, but... the AT4047 is an awesome mic and a total steal at that price. No brainer.

Well, it's certainly been a profitable day for me today!

    I talked him down to $260.  He told me on the phone he
only used it for about 5 hours, and when I looked at it, it
was in like-new condition.  So I essentially got (stole?) a $700 mic
for $260.  Incredible deal.

    Then I did a shoot-out with my Jim Williams RK-47
SP-1 mod special, and I was stunned at first:  they sounded
almost identical over my speakers.  It was only when
I listened over headphones that I could hear the differences:
The 4047 definitely has more bass response overall, almost
a bit too much over headphones actually.  And you can
definitely hear the 1kHz-8Khz presence peak in the
RK-47:

    So the 4047 sounds a bit flatter on the high end to me,
and has more bass, but the JW RK-47 mic definitely holds it's
own.  They are BOTH great sounding mics, just with slightly
different transfer functions.  Matt at microphone-parts
claims the modded SP-1 sounds like a $600 mic, and now
I believe it....let's make it $700, ok?  haha

    I  think I'll hold off on the Studio Projects C1 for now,
as I've got a used Oktava 319 in the mail, waiting to be
modded.....
