Hi,

I use sprint layout software, to design my pcb boards. And this program is cappable to generate cnc g code, and hpgl file formats, mainly to cut and drill the printed circuit boards.

My question is if HPGL file format is useful for metal punching factories... It would be interesting to give that code and get a metal panel or metal box fabricated...

Thank you for your advise,
JAY X

The short answer is yes. Programs like Front Panel Designer can import HPGL files for engraving on a front panel.

Cheers

Hi,

Ok,  Good news then!

I have a demo of front panel designer, i try to layout holes... and it was kind difficult because of the 0.0 reference point location...so i try with the pcb software... and laying out the holes was ¡so easy!!..

Thank you very much,
JAY X
