as I read this,  I got two big takeaways.

Due to phil not being in england for some time

1. vocals are usually ok.  but could be better.  if you plan to re-record them  keep the old one and do the new ones better.  No real how to or what to change, just make them better.  ;D

2. every song needs to be remixed because the mixes are good but your vocals are not loud enough. so just remix it all and remix it better.

Just by chance I found a mention recently over in 'Gruff Slags' about Phil Spectre's wall of sound recording methodology . Apparently he would foldback reverb and echo effects into the recording room via speakers to help create a live vibe for the performers. There doesnt seem to be much info in the public domain about Phil's methods , later all the controversy surrounding the murder trial over took and drowned out the more interesting aspects of his sound production.
