Ya'll remember HeathKit?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heathkit, http://heathkit-museum.com/, http://www.heathkit.org/

How many ships did this company sail. I know my first time holding a soldering iron with intent was building a Heath Kit portable AM/FM radio my Mom and Dad bought me for Christmas. Man was I just thoroughly overwhelmed! But ya know what? 43 years later I'm still swinging. Yes kits people they have purpose and they educate and they spur people on and oh yea they help me get something I want with a little elbow grease and brow sweat that would probably cost a lot more if I bought it from some guy straight up.

Everyone finds their point of involvement but first they must engage!

EDIT: I missed JR post first time around so yes! Kits rule in the beginning and I for one think they are good. So is designing and building thing on your own.
