I shop this place from time to time. It's kind of like a high brow surplus store. Everything is neatly packaged and hung on racks, and most of the stock is in the back, a sales person has to go fetch it. But it's a great source for parts when I am in a jam at work.

Their catalog is a great desk top referance for the most basic components. It saves thumbing thru mega page catalogs. I was going to scan the most used pages out of the 16 page price sheet, but I found it online so I don't have to hassle with that miserable HP scanner software.
You might want to print out:
Page 4: Voltage Regulators
Page 5: Linear devices
Page 10: Transistors and
Page 11: Diodes.
