Hi all,

Looking to build a SS Pultec clone. Am hearing some things about ringing using the VW inductor. Am hearing that the Carnhills are nice, but do not find them available on Colin's audiomaintenance site.  Anyone know where I can order two?

Also, how are y'all installing them? In some kind of mu-metal shield can or box, with the caps? Like the originals?

Thanks,
Chris

here's the number: CA-18-VTA1444

I bought one 2 weeks ago. I would call Colin, to find out what's the matter.
Don Audio has also EQP1 inductors

Hi,

Don't want Don's, thanks.

The 1444 I don't see on Colin's site? Emailed him last week and haven't heard back?

Chris

Chris, be patient. The Carnhill inductors kick ass.

I built Drip units and glued the inductors to the board they connect to. No problems, my units are DEAD quiet.

The Pultec filter can is just steel, to my knowledge. No mu metal.

And I tested my units with a QA401, wasn’t just listening. Though I did that too.
