Hi!

I ended up with a project with 10 cheap 75mm slide potentiometers that all have black (felt?) dust-cover protection.

It seems to make the faders slide less easily, and I'd like to remove the felt, if that is what it is?

Has anyone else done that before?

Thank you

I'd suggest that it's not the felt that is responsible.Guide rod and lubrication are big factors. And some mechanical damping is often deliberately applied in quality faders by using a sort of grease. Google "Kilopoise". And obviously required where faders are inclined or vertically orientated.

Hey thanks! I removed the felt, cleaned them carefully to get the adhesive off and to blow out any fibers, and they are working great now!

Why it is so hard to get decent prices on Alps and Bourns in the US is plain weird?

If I bought them anywhere but the US they would be like 1/4 the price?
