Hello friends,
GOTO Here for the actual build.
Wilma has informed me of several Vintage Tube Broadcast Consoles that have been offered to us to be refurbished, but we are either not interested or not able to tackle or purchase these projects at this time.
She has received several requests regarding a V72 Console and if it can be added to our "museum." She has already began purchasign parts but sadly, the cost of these consoles are outside of our comfort level to tackle without support. Being proactive she has begun putting together a plan to bring some of these consoles into our folds.
The nice thing about Consoles designed around the V72 is they are modular. Meaning there are many parts to be refurbished in various locations.
Our friend in Korea Changsik has purchased a EAB RE85 but since had to relocate putting this amazing piece of history in storage and on indefinate hold. Changsik is an amazing technician who rebuilds many vintage audio devices. We hope to one day put the EAB RE85 into our catalouge.
Bernhard has a BEAUTIFUL Desk that is in serious need of some TLC. I won't lie, I love this desk. It checks all my interests outside of one. I would want an actual Maihak desk which is harder to find then I care to mention.
We added this to the Brewery because this is a conversation that warrants some insight. Wilma is looking for people interested in adding some Telefunken tools to their studio. In a nutshell she figures that there would be several preamps and compressors that will be built and not used in these large projects. That said, these extra's would go to those helping us build these consoles.
Is there interest from the GDIY alumni in aiding to refurbish these larger priced items?
All in all this is a very early conversation that we are happy to spearhead but are making no set plans on how this would all playout. This is only a test to see if people will engage in this conversation.
Thanks!
