Compressor issues

Heyy everyone,
I am building a simple compressor circuit that I found on the web and there are two germanium diodes mentioned there both the GA206. Can’t seem to find these diodes on sale nor any alternatives for it. Found some data regarding it here

Does not matter what diodes you use there, only slight differences in threshold will result. Which will vary wildly anyway, depending on the JFET..

So just any diode you have around, does not have to be germanium or fancy or anything

I don't get the 1K/10nF filter at the output, why would you want to lowcut everything permanently at 16KHz?

Roll-off at 16k: maybe the compressor was designed for use in radio? FM goes to 15k…

Barry beat me to it: this looks like a utility circuit, of the kind found in comms equipment.
