Console PSU keeps blowing diode bridge. What to do?

Wow, congratulations - we were ALL wrong!  But yeah, an intermittent short will drive you crazy til you find it.  Thanks for the adventure ;-)

I'm impressed by your persistence, Ilya - it sounds like every trip you made inside there was a bigger pain in the ass than the previous one!

Am I alone in thinking that a power supply of such gigantic beefiness ought not depend on heat shrink tubing for its survival?
