DAW Controlled Wireless Recording Lights

very nice!  I'm designing something similar that uses a studio's wifi network to handle all communications, instead of that proprietary xbee system, which relies on it's own network.    The only problem i'm realizing is that a lot of studios don't like having their main rigs connected to the internet, so i can see why the xbee system was a great choice for this project

Sounds awesome. Would be nice to have multiple lamps on the network with multiple machines triggering individually. For studios with more than one rig and a need for multiple lamps.

I'm using xbee's Digimesh system, so there's no network base station or anything like that. Just the broadcast mesh transmitter I designed, which is connected to the DAW and as many signs as you like.

Non Wireless ?! Usb to serial sending a signal when record is on ( midi ?!) . uC with firmware will also do the trick...
Im actualy about to start a similar project ( usb) and as usual ill post code and( if applicable) schematics... In my case is just a midi controller ( pots mainly)...
