FZ and many other companies buy from a factory which only does business internally within ningbo and is supposed to remain a secret to outsiders. Many suppliers will be shocked or might even go silent if you know the real name of the factory. This company makes lots of capsules (including the first generation of all of mine), bodies, and many accessories (including shockmounts and pop screens for blue and many other high-end brands). They also do contract work for 797, alctron and many others. They are who the people you outsource to, outsource to. FZ is a good place to get stuff from this factory and some others, and their sales and support is pretty unmatched. The caveat of doing business with FZ is their prices are slightly-to-moderately higher than some other TCs that do business with the same factory, but IMO their significantly improved support over the others is worth the extra money.

Those look really good. Where did you find them?
manufacturer u87 1:1, he also makes the Neumann m149, I bought a capsule and transformer from their clone 251, the transformer is apparently a clone of Moby t14/1

I guess you didn't see our other threads. We discussed this months ago and and the manufacturer himself was even here contributing. All the reviews so far have mentioned that it sounded pretty poor.

There were even a few more threads about this capsule. Why would anyone buy a chinese copy of Moby's T14/1 which is a copy of an AKG T14/1? It isn't as if Moby's transformer is particularily expensive.

I believe this mic is the new Golden Age 251 and the chinese one sell for something close to 5000 USD

Yes it is the Golden Age model, try changing tube, we had to drill those self-locking screws out haha:)

He probably copied just the look of it. Sound of this transformer depends from the core alloy and the final heat treatment.
