Nothing to write home about. Really small body, not a bad headbasket though, fits apex 460 body, but not without modification. Rubbish capsule, some kind of new take on bm800 circuit.

Yup. No brackets, just leads from the pcb to the xlr.

I was just curious what the rest of the construction was like.

I went simple and cheap with this one. Replaced the capsule for the larger 25mm electret, added some hf attenuation, haven't even bothered to change the fet. It will be useful for something i guess.

It looks quite decent when bottom part of the body is masked by the holder.

Seems like it, however my experience with MXL is very limited. Not easy to come by in Norway. Most of the ones i saw had that terrible looking golden grille. This is the first grille i ever tried to paint, and it worked our great, no troubles at all as long as you do it carefully.

The 2006 is grey, the 3000 have longer body and the 4000xl have nice polar pattern selector in front, but different head sadly
