You can get a used copy of Grossner for 20 bucks if you search.
Much better to have the book if going into design.
McLyman is not as heavy, if your math is not that strong.
Grossner does not use Calculus, but it can get a little heavy.

with the source code is posible to mod the software for use it with low levels transformers.
just change some resistors and get off some tubes...
