This is what I like about 3nity. He does it his way. I'm too lazy.

Kudos for posting first pictures of build. Also you used TRS instead of XLRs. Those blue film caps are what kind?

My first 1084 channel is working without any problems from first power-up and sounds so damn good that I'll have to use it a few days before I'm gonna tidy up the wiring. Pics to come.
A big thanks goes to Jim and all the guys involved in making this project possible.

Nice to hear that. The "EZ" is coming through as intended. How do you like the LF? I love what it does.

Cheers

I have 8 Neve 1084's and love them! I could still use a couple more. Couple of questions.
Anybody compare this with the EZ1290 to an original or an EMS-NEVE reissue?
Second if its appropriate to ask roughly how much did the build cost with a rough break down?

I forget what my total cost was (mine are prototypes and I tested many parts). I would venture around 500.00.

The EZ1290 sounds great and is based on the NEVE schematic. There is probably a slight variation in sound like there would be with any reproduction of old designs.

I want to thank everyone for making this project an amazing success. Word of finished builds are starting to come in and it seems they are loved so much they have no time to post pictures of their build!

I am going to try and nag some photos and comments out of you guys! (or maybe I should post some of mine!) ;D

I also want to say that I am almost out of boards (1 left after some payments come in) so I am thinking of ordering a second run.

If anyone is interested let me know via PM. I will base my re-order (if any) on future interest or commitment.

Thanks.

Jim

Thanks Jim,
Are you referring to the schematic in the original Neve manual or do you have another source in pdf somewhere? I got almost everything ordered now so will provide an exact parts cost as of February 1st, 2011.

Hey Jim,

Just got my boards today! They look great! FWIW, I'm interested in, at least, another 2-4 boards when you do another run. Thanks for the great project!

Chris

In response to you considering a second run, DO IT. I'll be buying 1 for sure, maybe even 2. I know a couple guys who will most  likely jump on the bandwagon once they see me starting mine..

Hi all,

Having trouble locating the Carnhill XFR pcb adapter (VTB-9045)over at five fish audio. Anyone have any ideas.
