Id like 2 boards pls when do you think you'll be doing them?

I can reserve 2 boards for you. They should be arriving soon. I can send you a PM or PM me your email address as well as shipping info etc.

Cheers

Jim

Well yes and no. I like the double bar knob for these type of switches, red is typical for gain. In the end don't really like them... or my crude paint job ... so the search continues. If anyone wants them, contact me. They were .35c ea.

Do you think that this board can be used to implement a Eq section in a completed EZ1290 preamp?
I don't need a line input, but it would be great to have the eq after the pre.
Someone said before that this can be probably done but without the schematics I can't find how.

Thanks

Yes this can be done. The 1290 is part of a full 1084. There are redundant components in the 1290 so you would have to tap into the right spots on the 1290. The EZ1084EQ already has the ability to incorporate an add on mike input PCB (made by Madriaanse as well). However one could use the same entry points and tap into the 1290.

You would have to break the correct traces and pass the signal into the 1084. If you wanted to retain the 1290's capabilities as standalone mike pre, you would have to put a switch to reconnect the cut traces.

Right now I don't have time to look at the schematic but I'll take a look asap and get back to you. Don't be shy to remind me if I don't.

Fantastic!!
It would be great to maintain redundant components on the 1290 side, so that people with EZ1290 already build (like me  8) ) can save some $...

Thank you very much!!

Chris, I used screws but I think using one of these (see below) with tiewraps may be the way to go (as long as you don't do 360's with your EQ unit!  :-X

Yes that's all me. DIY with a passion for bigger and better each time.

The build was easy but I have been through a few learning projects over the years. I did end up having someone build a 5mm wrench to fix a switch.. just try to find one or risk using needle nose when the switch is installed -yuk. Caution on using weak/ thin resistor leads in place of the pins that came with them - They bend and drop inside the switch! Very easy fix with the right tools.

For the typical DIY'er, suggest you offer a "round hole" alternative power switch part #. Can't do square hole with a home drill.  ;) Nice to have friends with access to a Plasma Cutter though

Happy to offer up the laser engraving file to anyone interested, modify if they want or just do it for them. Any local area engraver with a Laser Engraver machine and CorelDraw could use it. I set it up to provide drill hole centers. Pretty easy to adjust for knob diameter. Catch my labeling screw up?  ???

BTW - Anyone got a source for Neve'ish double bar knobs? Can't find the surplus site that I got these from and I want a matching pair of ez1084s!!

Nice work, I like what you've done.
