Wire wrap scratch built 1073
I asked lots and lots of questions here so big thanks to all especially Ian. Tested from control room tonight with an sm57 micing a small Fender amp in another room and as switched eq on for first time almost shed a tear sounded so good.

The large butcher paper is a complete drawing I did by hand after reading the entire manual lots of times. It helped me to learn and memorize most of it. Next step Eagle cad and hopefully 16 more - will never wire wrap again

My diy psu finally took a dirt nap- thinking of buying one. Bae looks ok for the money. Thoughts?

Why not buy a used 24v linear supply off ebay or somewhere. Cheap and you can use it for any other Neve stuff you want to build.

I was going to suggest one of that type, usually referred to as an "open frame linear power supply". Several companies sell "identical" models; ie same physical dimensions and voltage/current ratings. Another brand I can think of is called International Power.

All you need to do is find a suitable metal enclosure, add an AC power cord and fuse. If desired, also a mains on/off switch and/or a power indicator.

Edit: IIRC, Power-One was purchased by another company. It might have been BEL. But, here is a catalog sheet from Power-One showing the many different models.

For years, I've used a metal enclosure called a "screw cover pull box" and also called "NEMA Type 1". They are used by electricians (typically in commercial building wiring applications). They come in many sizes with a choice of surface finishes. You can find them without conduit knockouts from many different manufacturers and are sold at local electric supply houses. I've even seen some of the smaller ones at Home Depot.

I attached a catalog from one of the many manufacturers and a snapshot of one of my builds using open frame linear supplies (Power-One....IIRC). The boxes I used were ones without conduit knockouts.
