i actually bought a copy... and i must say -- i'm quite impressed with it.

It really depends what you want to do with it. it reminds me of corel draw with extras. an early version of CD obviously.

if you want to use lazertran or something - it's great.
 
Yes , it works realy well , but dont forget to get the patch from them aswell if you want a good hpgl output.

Try using corel draw to convert the file.
Export the file from your cad program as a vectorized format.

As a mac user you can use these windows emulator stuff.

The only problem is... you need corel draw. :wink:
(older versions are available very cheap)

Another problem is...
is your cad layout hpgl compatible?
does it look like this: ?

otherwise you will get "outline" text and symbols...

You have to rezise the objects to the half of the drill diameter, otherwise the hpgl will be bigger.
