I've got a broken comp-54( meter is not working and sidechain seems funny)
while waiting for reply from manufacturer I googled around here,
but couldnt find anything on this unit, allthou there were some topics about their preamp..

Has anyone here had these units/fixed/modded them or maybe even have schemas? :)
or is this close to Igors 2254c schematics?

I did the first drawing to GA but it was later modified by them.
Sidechain is based on the 2264/33609, only the output section is from the 2254

ok, thanks!
gotta look into those.

The only GAP 54 I had on my bench had a meter that bounced around in a rather useless manner.  The owner said it was always like that and he only used it to know the unit was compressing, but not how much or how fast/slow.

Yep i owned one and that's pretty much how it seems to work.

My Comp54 had a broken meter, too. They charged me 250€ for a repair which took half a year...

I did upgrade the transformers to Carnhill and that made a huge difference. But Tekay´s Vintagedesign CL1 still is the best compressor on earth ;-)

Thank you all!
So my meter was busted, everything else seems to work..
GAP customer service was very fast and hopefully I get answer on replacement meter cost on monday.
..but while googling for answers I saw a lot of people not liking the original meter,
so maybe I should just get some proper meter instead:)
If I understand it correctly, that bad metering is fault of cheap chinese meter "ballistics"-not the circuit?
