Goniometer - alternative to VU and PPM?

Just read about this
Runs of 18VDC
Line-level unbalanced input - meant to be fed from headphone output of mixer
Look at the LED display below
A true mono is a thin vertical line
Stereo is a ball

Following info can be represented

L and R levels
Stereo width
Mono
Frequency content

and - apparantly (with practise) - different mic patterns have different charactersitics so can be identified

It is - it's the same. They even have a -170, which is the stereo version..
