Hello!
My name's Evan and I happened upon this forum when I started going down the rabbit hole of curiosity when I began my second mic build. It's a Ela M-251 and it turned out quite nicely...but now I want to build a U47! Given it seems those are two of the most iconic, if not the two most iconic, tube mics of yesteryear, it feels fitting to have one of each. Perhaps one day I'll get to test mine against some actual examples.
I'm a relative neophyte to mics but I've been building guitar amps for many years. I gotta say it's much nicer to work inside of spacious amplifier chassis as opposed to tiny mic chassis!
This forum looks like a fun place to learn about cool builds and get leads on who's making great parts - I'm excited to hang out!
