Good morning to all,

I’m finishing stuffing my Mnats rev J PCB but I have some question regarding the Caps, because in Greg and Mnats part’s list these caps are different:
Can someone tell-me witch one should I use, and why?

Regards,
Luis

Luis, Mnats only wrote what kind and value u use, Greg specified Digikey numbers.
I would follow Mnats list and order what can get. There are ceramic, poly (polieste, polipropylene) and lytics. Buy what you can get, maybe use suggested Panasonics for lytics.

I can't find the difference. Except that the greg list specifies what brand/quality of each part.

edit: rotation was faster..

yep, these lists are just about identical - except as already noted, greg has given you specific items from the digikey catalog and mnats specifies only generally. (and they're not in the same sorting order.) use either list but keep in mind that greg built his list specifically for the gyraf board. mnats board is based on gyraf g1176 so parts list should be common for both. (they were when I built mine a few revisions ago.)

I would be sure to use tantalum caps for the 6.8µF C19 and C20 if you can find 'em (mouser: 80-T350F685K035AT.) Greg specifies electrolytic for these parts I believe and they probably work just fine but I'd also bet there's a reason low-leakage tantalums are specified by mnats in these positions.

search first. ask questions later.

Another quick question regarding the caps as well.

I see some caps listed as C*, C*1, C*2, C*3. Information on these seems limited (from the mnats site). Can anyone shed a little light onto this?

You will find that 10uF low-leakage electro's work just as well here.

C* : 100uF electro
C*1 : 100uF electro
C*2 : 0.1uF mono
C*3 : 0.1uF mono

[quote author="louder"]Hi
if you use input tranny, use those components marked *.
best regards

I don't think he means those parts. He is referring to the additional PSU bypass capacitors which are always good to include to keep any PSU noise down.
