When you pull the red release tabs back the red rectangle that is on the side with the holes gets pulled back into the plug. It has a ramp on it that lifts the locking mechanism on the Earth pin.

I believe, in this case you are mistaken. I have one in front of me & when you oull the red release back you can only see something happening in the Earth pin hole.

Indeed I was. Ground pin only!
