And increasing negative voltages makes the number bigger.

Positive and negative are polarities not quantities. If you go from -45v to -50v, that's a 5v increase. You are now 5 volts farther away from the potential of your ground. You can't have a positive and negative dc voltage on the same wire, at least for the sake of this explanation.
 
I can now fit my output transformer from modulus which is specific for a JTM45 and for kt66 so I’ll have all the pieces for the puzzle.
I’ve also now had a revisit to my other plexi and tidied it up and it sounds so much better.
