I remember many gigs with peavey speakers ,when things got loud you could often see the bulbs glowing through the ports in the cabs ,I had at least a few spooked people come up to me and ask why the speakers were glowing.

Yes the studer C37 does have a bulb current limiter in it , I have two of them ,one fully restored ,the other in need of work still .

The original Hammond reverb unit has two light bulbs in series with the + and - wires to the tank , I have a small 5 watt EL84 based amp I sometimes use to drive reverb tanks ,I have the light bulbs as a  switchable limiter, and an attenuator also before the tank ,really allows a lot of versatillity ,in that you can overdrive the amp with limiters then attenuate the level so the tanks input transducer doesnt completely saturate.
