hi all,

just got a ibanez HD1000 delay/harmonizer.

it has a problem on display, only showing the delay multiplier symbol but no actual values for delay time or pitch shift.

the backlight is ok and i reseated the flatcables. a schematic/service manual would help to dig in deeper.

if u have one please let me know!

thanks,
J

I went looking for an ibanez dmd2000 schem or even a manual and came up empty handed. Not a lot of talk going on with these.

Not a lot of tech talk anyway.

yeah. seems that somebody had a HD1000 service manual for sale online at some point but not anymore.

i used to have a schematic for DM1000 but cannot find it at the moment. dunno if it would be of any help with DM2000 though.

worth checking the maxon model manuals too. they made HD1000 and DM1000 under maxon brand name too and seems they did DM2000 as well.

I once repaired an Yamaha rack fx processor display just by replacing the electrolytic capacitors around the display by new ones.

Dont know if this could be applied also to that Ibanez unit

Hey there, I have a hd 1000 and the pot for the pitch control is defective, Does anyone have any info about where, what kind of pot would work or a model number /part number. Ibanez is 0 help.
Thanks

Best thing would be to open the unit, remove the pot, and then check of it has the type of taper and resistance value written, if not you have to measure it. Then it will be probably easy to buy a replacement pot

Thanks whoops!
I pulled the pot out (of the hd 1000). and it is curious, It looks like it only has one pin and stamped on the pitch pot is m 50 kdc 39c. or...... m50 k(ohm symbol) c 393 c. but definetly not a pole pot.
Any help is appreciated.

yes these are fairly good photos hope these are of help
I think you can see the numbers on the large photo
, Thanks John

That seems to be a 50K ohm Pot.
The "C" might mean the taper, so a C taper is a reverse audio taper or Reverse log.

The way to be sure about the Taper is to to measure Dc resistance of the pot.
Measure the value at 25% of rotation, then at 50% and then at 75% rotation, that will indicate what taper that is.
Then when you sure it's easy and cheap to buy a replacement

Thanks, Ok so I have a VTVM but lets assume I dont know really how to use it properly. Given what you stated , could you break that down in reaaly really simple terms. Alos why doesmit look like there is only one terminal, seems to me that it is universal to have 3.
But first off: Thanks you very much Whoops!

I did some digging and this may help:

EVHCCAP20C54: 50kC

EVHCCAP20C14: 10kA

It is possible to use the potentiometers of above value which fit to the PCB and the knob. They’ll have to do some digging to find the correct parts mentioned. 50kC and 10kA pot’s come in a lot of different shapes and sizes depending on the application. I don’t have the unit in front of me, so I don’t know the measurements of the pot’s or how they are mounted.”
