Lurking for months... finally making a new member post

Hey all! I'm a couple kit builds in, and just starting to make a mess.

Built a bunch of DIYRE stuff, including the Colour Duo, now moving into guitar pedals. Overwhelmed - I don't have a background in electronics, really - but really enjoying myself thus far.

I'll probably have a lot of questions along the lines of "why doesn't this work" with responses along the lines of "because you solder like an angry cave dweller."

Detroit Metro area in the US.

I think I've got an... An ok soldering station? Not the cheapest. What do folks recommend? I see Weller in lot of YouTube tutorials, that's probably a hint...
