ON another topic, how do you use Prodigy to find and read new messages whenever you log on? Mine always says, "you have no new mesages."
The "no new messages" link heads to your PM (private message) inbox. I'm guessing that you're probably looking for new and updated posts since you last visited. In that case, when you log on, it will show you the newest posts at the top of each forum page with an orange sticky-note icon to the left of them. Older posts that have not been updated since your last visit are further down the page and have a white icon.

And thanks for the mono to stereo info!

As Evan says: that refers to Private Messages. And "recent threads" float to the top by default.

This Forum is not fully Threaded. People don't reply to a specific message, they reply to the whole thread. (CompuServe had fully threaded discussions decades ago, but modern thinking is that people can't handle it, or maybe that a Pentium 4 is not as smart as a DEC-10.)

If you are interested in a specific thread, in hopes that someone might reply to one of your messages, look down the bottom-left of this page. "Watch this topic for replies" will flag this thread for your user-ID. When there is a new post (any new post) to the thread, an email is sent to your registered email address. I think the email includes a handy link. There will then be a "stop watching this topic" button at the bottom of the thread, for when you realize that the thread has drifted so far that it is unlikely to interest you again. (Obviously the "Watch/un-Watch this topic" won't work, probably does not appear, unless you are logged-in so it can know who you are.)

I got notice of your answer through my email.... I guess I just have to look at recent threads at the top. In my opinion it's not as efficient as other webboard software I've used.

Is there any way to sort it to show new posts of the day or new posts to me?

Just wanted to add that my K-Stereo/K-Surround process just received the official patent! Patent # 7076071.
Congrats Bob!

Thanks, guys! If you were me, would you frame the patent and put it on the wall? I just don't know. There's a difference between being proud and being a showoff...

Depends - did you happen to get some kind of certificate on deluxe paper ? In that case it'd be justified I guess, on a wall at your own descretion
If it'll be an own-printed version, it depends if you want to frame all pages of it

I'm certainly proud of my single one, but I didn't frame anything. But yours is a 'done-all-by-yourself' I understood, so you may have had way more hassle with it. In my case I did the technical work and wrote & discussed the text, but could then hand everything over to the patent-dept of my employer.

Regards,

Peter

You should still be proud, Peter. It's a lot of work to get through the government grind and prove it's patentable. Any way, if the patent page says "Peter..." assigned to "your employer", then you are the recognized inventor and you have a right to display this somewhere, at least in your rec room :)

Stick it on the wall... i would!!

If you're a bit self-conscious of people thinking you're a show off then put it somewhere discreet.

i think it's something to be proud of and seems a shame to let the occasion pass unmarked.

Mark.
