40 watt output transformer had about 5 shorted turns on primary layer #1,
the burn marks were right on the corner,
so it measured 1 Henry and had low volume, all the energy went into the 5 shorted turns instead of the 2000 turns of the total primary.
it is a good idea to coat the nylon bobbin with a wrap of yellow poly tape to smooth out any rough edges,
you can sand the bobbin also.
