Hi,
For an experiment I need more than 500V high voltage and also a negative voltage for the control grid.

I bought a Hammond 369HX for that. Thought it could provide the required voltages.

Unfortunately!

The 50V connection is a tab on the high voltage. That can work if you only use 225V, but if you use 450V and rectify with a diode bridge cell, there is a voltage of 275V on that 50V tab.

Moreover, I have to put that grid voltage with the plus to ground. If I do that, I will cause a short circuit.

Am I overlooking something or is it true that the 50V tab has only limited value and is not usable if you want to use the full 450V high voltage?
